I would like to introduce myself – my name is Jayne Marie Ebert. I recently published my first book, HER SCARS. I am very excited to share it with my readers and hope that it can be both inspirational and healing. The material is extremely sensitive, containing raw materials based on true life events; however, the characters are fictional and the situations that happen to them individually are an accumulation of events that can occur during situations around depression and suicidal ideations, but not necessarily within a single individual or case study.
As a newly published author, I am starting this blog to document my progress through the publishing and marketing process.
First, I have published HER SCARS on Amazon, and it is for sale as an e-book and paperback.
I’m excited to say that I have gotten two five-star reviews, thus far. I encourage all reviews because it helps me to grow as a writer and I love reading about what you all have to say about my book.
Second, I am in the process of putting together a virtual book signing with a reading and Q&A on Facebook. With the purchase to the event, you will also get a signed copy of my book sent to you prior to the event. You may follow me on Facebook:
Third, Social Media. This is kind of self-explanatory. Visibility and consistency are key with social media posts.
Finally, self-publishing is a lot of work. It does give me a new understanding to how hard literary agents work to market us as authors and our books. However, with self-publishing, I have found that it gives us back some of the control to market the way we want and to specific audiences. We own our copyright to our work, as well as the freedom to maintain creative control.
I hope you will follow me. Welcome to my blog and happy writing!
